Stef was born and raised in Logan, Ohio in the United States. They now live and work in Berlin. Their artistic practice focuses on the culture of small talk in the US, specifically communities from the midwest. Their work stems from sound archives and branches out into writings, photographs, videos, and installations.
They have exhibited among others at the International Photography Festival Les Rencontres d’Arles and at the AFF Galerie in Berlin. Their work is a part of Ohio Wesleyan University’s permanent collection, and has also been published by the Material Verlag, Butter Press, and others.
